I purchased this and I guess it’s my fault I didn’t realize it included the pole kit. I was ok with purchasing it separately even though the price was similar with other retailers with the pole kit included.
I tried emailing the manufacturer several times to purchase the pole kit, but no responses. Also they do not have a contact telephone number on the website or list retailers where you can purchase the pole.
I was going to purchase a pole from a local retailer, but even the instructions were not complete. No description of how to put together, just one large drawing of many parts. Not a product for the inexperience.

This solar blanket cover reel compares well in quality and price with others of similar design, for example it is solidly built of aluminum and includes casters and adjustable height bars allowing the reel to fit under many diving boards if needed or, if desired, to reel in the cover (not included) from the middle (or end) of an odd or even shaped in-ground pool. However, contrary to the picture the “Reel System” does not come with the needed aluminum cross bar to hold the cover, although it includes the end pieces and crank and the straps to hold the bar and cover. The cross bar must be ordered separately to fit the width of the pool (Amazon does sell the cross bars in different widths of 12 to 24 feet made by the same manufacturer but you have to search for Hydro Tools Aluminum Cross Pool Pole Set within Amazon to find the right bar which fits this in-ground reel assembly). The instructions included with the reel system ironically are good as to assembly of the (not-included) cross bar to the end pieces but non-existent about the assembly of the casters and end pieces themselves, even though the package contains all the tools (wrenches and drill bit) for such assembly. For these reasons, I knocked it down one star.
